Ancestry Library edition — U.S. collections deliver hundreds of millions of names from sources such as federal and U.S. censuses; birth, death, and marriage records, and many more. Canadian collections provide nearly 60 million records from the Census of Canada, key vital records, among others. Multimedia collections deliver millions of files ranging from family and gravestone photos to postcards and newsreels.

KnowBC.comKnow British Columbia Logo — The leading source of British Columbia information. Harbour Publishing’s Encyclopedia of British Columbia is the cornerstone of KnowBC, but there is much more on the site today.

Gale Courses — Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor led courses that you can take entirely online. As a library card holder you are entitled to these courses at no cost. Mango Languages Mango languages— Language learning database designed to equip you with conversational abilities. Over 15 ESL courses taught in patron’s native language. Learn anytime and anywhere with remote access. Also available as an app for your mobile device.

National GeorgraphicNational Geographic Magazine — The online home of National Geographic Magazine. Resource for photography, research, updates, news, global issues, geography, maps, and video.

Niche AcademyNiche Academy — An online learning and community engagement tool to connect learners to ready-to-use tutorials and specialized training. Niche Academy provides access to Cariboo Regional District Library databases as well as other tutorials. Check out our “View Tutorials” button on the right-hand side for shorts videos on select databases.

NoveList — Search for books by title, reading level, subject, or author, and browse featured articles, BookTalks, Book Discussion Guides, and Author Read-Alikes.

BC Laws — provides free public access to the current laws of British Columbia. This unofficial current consolidation of BC Statutes and Regulations is updated continually as new and amended laws come into force.

BC Codes — British Columbia Codes provide the minimum requirements for a safely built environment and are the product of a unique partnership between industry practitioners, construction technology experts, and provincial regulators.

BC Stats — is the central statistical agency of the Province of BC. Contains the latest figures on: Business Indicators; Consumer Price Index; Exports; Tourism Sector Monitor; Earnings & Employment Trends; Labour Force Statistics; Migration & Immigration.

Clicklaw — An Internet subject guide to authoritative legal resources in BC and Canada. Developed by the Legal Services Society of BC and now maintained by the BC Courthouse Library Society. No library card is required to access this resource on the Internet.

Directory of Open Access Journals — provides free, full-text, quality-controlled scientific and scholarly journals in a variety of subjects and languages.

FirstVoices — FirstVoices is a group of web-based tools and services designed to support Aboriginal people engaged in language archiving, language teaching, and culture revitalization. Includes community portals for Secwepemc and Tsilhqot’in (Xeni Gwet’in).

Google Scholar — Google Scholar is a freely accessible web search engine that indexes the full text or metadata of scholarly literature across an array of publishing formats and disciplines.

JusticeBC — provides general information on criminal and family law in British Columbia, including special sections addressing the particular needs of victims, witnesses, family members, accused etc., and links to family law resources and services provided by government.

Illume — Illume is the BC provincial library catalog through which we process interlibrary loans. If you see a book in this catalog that we don’t have in our own Library System, request it through Interlibrary Loan

Project Gutenberg — the first producer of free electronic books, currently with over 25,000 titles.
